Service Project: A New Dawn

Dear Patients and Families,

Last fall, we sponsored a service project through our office to collect clothes and supplies for the Salt Lake Rescue Mission. We were so amazed with the generosity of so many of you who willingly donated. We had so many bags of donations that the Rescue Mission did not have room enough to fit everything! The rest of the items were donated to the Lantern House in Ogden. The project was a testament that much good can be accomplished when good people come together united to reach a specific goal.

We are excited to announce another great service opportunity through our office this fall! “A New Dawn” is a local foundation that helps and supports women and children in recovery from abuse and addiction. More often than not, when these individuals fall on hard times, they literally lose everything.

The foundation steps in to help early in the recovery process by providing basic necessities to these individuals. These necessities are given to them in the form of a “Bug Out Bag”, a small bag filled with things such as shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes and toothpaste to name a few. The foundation constantly faces the challenge of keeping these bags stocked on their shelves.

Our goal this year is to assemble 1000 “Bug Out Bags” and deliver them to the foundation during the first week of December. We would like to extend an invitation to you and your family to participate in this cause by helping to donate some of these items. We will provide a specific list of necessities along with further project details in the near future. We thank you again for your kindness and generosity last year and hope that we might be able to make the same kind of difference yet again this year!

Thank you in advance,
Dr. Coleman
